Do you like your website? Part 6

Let’s keep this one brief.  The previous entries should make this one predictable.

Part 6 – “My employees love it”

Don’t design/structure your website so that you and your employees can navigate it.  Plan it so that your customers/clients/audience can use and benefit from it (unless you’re building an office intranet site… totally differed!).

Instead of owning a site that satisfies you and your employees, ask yourself:

  • Does my audience like my site?
  • Is it helping to sell/advertise/inform successfully?
  • Is it helping me reach the goals I want?
  • Have I acknowledged and made changes for problems pointed out by others?
Always cater to the people you’re working to attract.
